Welcome Back!

Welcome back to a new school year and a new book club group! This year we are going to have something extra special for our readers...Kindles available for check out!  In order to check out the Kindle, please return the Kindle permission slip to the media center. Upon receipt of the completed form signed by student and parent, the Kindle may be checked out. Click here to access the Kindle permission slip.We will have a hard copy of the book available as well, and as always, don't forget to check your local public library.

The first book we are reading is called Turtle in Paradise written by Jennifer L. Holm. It's a Newberry Honor Book and a 2012-2013 Georgia Book Award Nominee.

Turtle is an 11-year-old girl that has to suddenly up and move to Key West, Florida to live with her aunt whom she has never met before. Shortly after her arrival she discovers that life in Key West is a little different. It's full of boys who call themselves the Diaper Gang, family secrets and even pirate treasure! She's nicknamed Turtle because she has a hard shell, but is this all too much for her?
