January Book Club

Wow, December is already over, and our January book club is only a week away!  How is that possible??  Although we usually vote on the next title we are going to read, our January book was chosen for us for a very good reason.  We are so excited that author Gordon Korman will be coming to visit our school in February!  In preparation for his visit, each of the book clubs are reading one of his books so that we can be prepared to ask thoughtful questions and have a meaningful discussion with Mr. Korman.  The book that the 5th grade girls are reading is Island Book One: Shipwreck.  This is a major departure from the last book we read, so we are eager to see how we like reading a more adventurous story.
